How you can reclaim your artistry with the Fine Art Series

Jump to example paintings & photos

Creativity is one of the few absolutes that is permanently intertwined with the human experience. Sometimes this is expressed in a more traditional dimension such as painting, sculpting, writing, but it also exists as trying out a new cooking recipe, picking up that new hobby, or allowing yourself to fall into whatever inspiration strikes you - free from expectations, shame, and judgement.

This is the realm that I feel most free. When I intentionally choose to set aside my fear and judgement, I am able to create without limitations.
This is where The Fine Art Series was born.

How do I benefit from The Fine Art Series?

With all of this in mind, I created a new way to get your portraits done that not only showcases your creativity & character, but also leaves the fear of getting your photo taken right at the door. As Elizabeth Gilbert put it, “You do not need your fear in the realm of creative expression.”

Using inspiration from artists throughout human history, The Fine Art Series blends traditional paintings with your portrait - a way to reimagine how you view yourself in photos and to reclaim the creativity that our human experience craves.

If you have ever wanted to be part of a creative and professionally directed photoshoot but told yourself that you don’t have the skill to be in front of the camera, this is a great chance for you to:

  • break out of that mold

  • challenge negative ways of thinking, and

  • receive beautiful photos of yourself that you get to keep with you forever

Get your headshots taken for your career, but get a Fine Art portrait taken for your creative freedom.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Book a consultation with me: Whether in person, over the phone, or even text, we’ll create a space for you that doesn’t allow judgment to get in the way of your creativity.

We’ll find a piece of artwork that speaks to you and build our photoshoot around it. Our inspiration can be directly or subtly inspired by the artwork - maybe it’s just the colors in the painting, maybe you want to replicate it completely - that is all up to you.

  2. Prep for the photoshoot: After our inspo session, I’ll put together a moodboard to give us a basic outline in what we want to achieve. We’ll plan your outfit & makeup, the location of the photoshoot, and the day/time of your photoshoot.

  3. Photo time: The best part of this whole experience - getting your photos taken! Don’t worry if you feel like you don’t know how to pose or where to put your hands, I’ll be there each step of the way to make sure you put your best foot forward. This is a time to completely self-indulge and enjoy the process.

tip: if you need some direction, you can review my blog post on 7 of my go-to poses I like to use for non-models.

  4. Get your photos: After we wrap up our photoshoot, I’ll get to work on editing and perfecting your photos. I’ll send you the photos via a digital gallery and you get to keep these as a token of your creative expression forever.
